-나2
-나②: …? — Bare Question to Self or Close
Ending: …? — a bare question to yourself or someone close.
How to form it
| When | Form | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Action / processive | -나 | 가나 / 하나 / 먹나 |
| Descriptive | -나 | 좋나 / 많나 / 바쁘나 |
-나② is a bare question — to yourself or someone close.
Not heavy -는가②. Intimate / self-ask colour.
Why this is hard
Short question endings look interchangeable. -나② is the close / bare seat, not the formal issue table.
What it does
지금 가나?
이게 맞나?
내가 잘못했나?
비가 오나?
Often self-check or intimate ping.
Forms
Stem + -나.
가다 → 가나?
하다 → 하나?
좋다 → 좋나?
When not to use it
Do not use it as formal debate default — -는가② / -습니까.
Do not use it as a command.
Do not paste it onto every polite question.
Neighbours — and why they differ
| Form | Why it is not this slot |
|---|---|
| -는가② | Heavier issue-raising. |
| -니 | Another question family. |
| -네 | Discovery/exclamation — not this bare ask. |
Ask: self or close bare ask? If yes, -나②. If heavy issue, -는가②.
If you would not ask your boss that way, you probably wanted a heavier coat — or a polite -까요 / -나요 instead.
