Give/tell lines often stay with 에게. Movement and “headed toward” lines are where 에게로 earns its keep.

Not place

(장소)에 학교에 가요 — place goal. *학교에게로 is wrong. Keep 에게로 in the person/animal set.

Not 에서

에서 marks where an action happens or comes from. Direction-toward-a-person is a different particle story.

Do not confuse it with

Common questions

에게 vs 에게로?

[[g:ege-hante]] 에게/한테 marks the person something is aimed at or given to. 에게로 keeps that personal target and adds the 'toward' feel — useful with movement and sending.

한테로?

Spoken Korean often pairs 한테 with the same way. Classroom spelling here is 에게로.

Place particles?

[[g:e-place]] and [[g:eseo]] 에서 are for places. Do not say 학교에게로 for going to school.

Honorific?

For high status recipients you already use in the 에게 family; follow the same person-targeting habits and check full phrases in real use.
