-게 되다: Ending Up / Coming to…
Come to / end up — an action or state comes about (often as a result, not a raw plan).
How to form it

-게 되다 reports that something comes about — you end up doing or being it.
한국에서 살게 됐어요 — I came to live in Korea (how life turned out).

*내일 비가 오겠어요 guesses weather. 비가 오게 됐어요 is an odd weather line — keep -게 되다 for life changes and outcomes.

Manner -게
Separately, -게 can make adverb-like forms. Here the partner is auxiliary 되다 — learn the chunk -게 되다.

Common questions
Does it always mean 'against my will'?
Often it softens agency — things turned out that way — but the dictionary core is that the action/state comes about. Do not force 'victim' into every line.
-게 되다 vs -고 싶다?
[[g:go-sipda]] is desire. -게 되다 is outcome: 좋아하게 됐어요 = I came to like it.
-게 되다 vs -어야 되다?
[[g:eoya-doeda]] is obligation. Ending up ≠ having to.
Same -게 as adverbs?
Related ending family. [[g:ge-adverbial]] focuses manner/degree (빠르게). -게 되다 is the 'come to' construction with 되다.
