-는다면: If — Assuming a Condition
If — connective that takes a fact as an assumed condition.
How to form it

-는다면 takes a situation and sets it as a condition — if (we assume)….
Gloss: if — a hypothetical you are not assuming is true. 우리말샘 -는다면 「001」: assume a fact as a condition. 「002」: shortened -는다고 하면. Adjectives lean on -다면 「003」 (same assumption job).

Use -는다면 when you are framing a hypothesis as the basis for advice or a plan.
Use -으면 for ordinary if/when without that heavier assumption packaging.
Do not swap with -는다면서 — confirmation question ≠ conditional.
